QC Supply provides products and services to farmers and homesteaders across the United States for over 40 years. Their Magento website was based on an aging platform with numerous problems. After their partner Network Doctors referred them to ECommerce Partners, we set out to modernize their website and set them up for the next 40 years.

The Technical Blueprint

How We Engineered the Migration

This was not a plug-and-play migration. QC Supply's Magento instance had years of accumulated complexity that required purpose-built tooling to unravel.

EAV Data Normalization

Magento's Entity-Attribute-Value model scattered product data across 15+ database tables. We built custom extraction scripts to flatten this structure, mapping core attributes to Shopify product fields and preserving technical specifications as typed metafields. Every one of the 50,000+ SKUs was programmatically validated after import.

SEO Integrity Engine

QC Supply had 10,000+ indexed URLs with complex Magento path structures including .html suffixes and layered navigation parameters. We built regex-based redirect maps that handled every URL pattern, protecting organic search revenue from day one with zero ranking disruption post-launch.

ERP Real-Time Bridge

The legacy Magento ERP sync was fragile and batch-based, failing roughly 12% of the time and causing inventory discrepancies. We replaced it with a Node.js middleware layer connecting Shopify's GraphQL Admin API to QC Supply's backend systems, enabling real-time bi-directional sync for inventory, pricing, and order data.

B2B Architecture

QC Supply needed both retail and wholesale channels from a single backend. We built a custom B2B Pro Portal on top of Shopify's native B2B features, adding multi-user company accounts with role-based permissions, location-based ordering, and customer-specific catalogs that mirror the buying workflows their wholesale customers relied on.
