Shopify POS
Migration & Setup
ECommerce Partners moves retail stores onto Shopify POS without losing data. Products, customers, inventory at each location, gift card balances, store credit and past sales come across formatted for Shopify, so the same records work in the POS and on your website. We set up your locations and staff and plan the switch so your store never stops selling. Data migration and POS setup start at $2,500.
Best for: independent shops and multi-location retailers moving from Square, Clover, Lightspeed or an older POS, especially stores that sell online or plan to.

What moves to Shopify POS, and how.
Shopify's free Store Migration app brings over products and customers from Square, Clover and Lightspeed. The rest of what your store runs on needs another route, and that is where switches go wrong.
One system for the shop and the website.
One stock count.
The shop floor and the website sell from the same inventory, location by location. No overnight sync, no item sold twice because one system had not caught up.
One customer record.
A customer who buys in store and online is one person in Shopify, with one purchase history, one gift card balance and one set of loyalty points your staff can see at the counter.
Selling online is no longer a second project.
Products, prices and customers are already in Shopify the day the POS goes live. Launching the website means designing the store, not integrating two systems.
Everything between your old POS and your first Shopify sale.
Data Migration
Exports from your current POS cleaned and imported: products, customers, inventory by location, gift cards, store credit, loyalty balances and sales history.
Gift Cards & Store Credit
Outstanding balances moved exactly and reconciled against your old system, so what Shopify shows is what you owe your customers.
Locations & Inventory
Each store set up as a Shopify location with its own stock, so staff can see what another store has and transfer or ship from it.
Staff & Permissions
Staff accounts, PINs and roles per location, so a sales associate cannot issue a refund that needs a manager.
Payments & Taxes
Payment, tax and receipt settings configured in Shopify and tested on real transactions before the first customer arrives.
ERP & Accounting
If your old POS fed an ERP or your accounting system, we connect Shopify in its place. Integration is our core work.
Four steps from your old POS to Shopify.
Your store keeps selling on its current system the whole time. Everything is moved, checked and tested in Shopify first, so on the day you switch, the only thing left is bringing stock counts and balances up to date.
Export & Review
We export everything your current POS allows: products, customers, stock, gift cards, store credit and sales. If it will not export something, we tell you at the start, not at the end.
Clean & Import
We merge duplicate customers, check SKUs and barcodes against what is on your shelves, and import everything into Shopify. You review it before anything goes live.
Test & Train
We run test sales, returns and exchanges in Shopify POS, then walk your staff through the new screens and end-of-day.
Go Live
On a quiet day you choose, we update stock counts, gift card and store credit balances, and you start selling on Shopify POS. We are on call for the first days.
From one showroom to a chain of stores.
Independent shops
A boutique, a showroom or a specialty store on Square, Clover or Lightspeed that wants one system for the counter and a future website. We scope it to the size of the shop: data migration, POS setup, staff walkthrough and go-live, starting at $2,500.
Multi-location retailers
Several stores, a warehouse and often an ERP. Shopify Plus includes POS Pro for the first 20 locations, which changes the cost comparison. We roll stores over one at a time and connect the back office. See Shopify Plus development.
Ernesto Custom Clothiers: the shop first, the website next.
Ernesto Custom Clothiers is a family tailoring business with a showroom in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, in business since 1960. It put Shopify POS into the showroom with us before building its online store.
That order matters. Products, prices and customers went into Shopify once, for the showroom. When the online store launches it runs on the same system, with nothing to integrate and no second set of records to keep in step.
Not every store should switch.
If your POS does something your business depends on that Shopify POS does not, such as repairs, rentals or deep consignment tracking, connecting it to a Shopify website can be the better answer. We will tell you which side of that line you are on before you spend anything.

Questions retailers ask before switching.
Products and variants, customers, inventory counts for each location, gift card balances, store credit, loyalty balances and past sales. Shopify's free Store Migration app covers products and customers from Square, Clover and Lightspeed. Everything else needs an import app, Shopify's API or setup by hand, and that is most of the work we do.
Yes, but not through the Shopify admin, which has no order import. Past sales come in through Shopify's API or an import app, attached to the right customer so staff can see what someone bought before. We tag imported orders so they never trigger emails, inventory changes or new payouts.
Outstanding balances are a liability you owe your customers, so they have to come across exactly. Where your current system exports gift card codes, we import them so the cards people already hold keep working at the counter. Store credit is loaded as an opening balance on each customer. We check the totals against your old system before you switch.
No. Every Shopify plan includes POS Lite. POS Pro, which adds staff roles and permissions, deeper inventory tools and store reporting, is a paid add-on for each location. Shopify Plus includes POS Pro for the first 20 locations. Our guide to POS Pro cost works through which plan a chain of stores should be on.
It depends mostly on the state of your product data, not on the import itself. A single store with a clean catalog is the quick end. Several locations, an ERP, or years of gift cards and store credit take longer. After we look at your exports we give you a dated plan, including the day you switch.
Yes. Ernesto Custom Clothiers, a family tailoring business in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, put Shopify POS into its showroom with us before building its online store. A single store is a smaller project and we scope it that way: data migration, POS setup, a staff walkthrough and the switch itself on your quietest day, starting at $2,500.
Sometimes, and for a few stores it is the right call. Connectors between Lightspeed and Shopify exist, but every product and price change then runs through a sync someone has to watch. Our guide to switching from Lightspeed to Shopify POS lays out when connecting makes sense and when switching does.
Data migration and POS setup start at $2,500 for a single store. The price rises with the number of locations, the size and condition of your catalog, and how much else has to come across, such as gift cards, store credit and sales history. Your Shopify subscription and any hardware are paid to Shopify, separately.
